When I heard she’d got her own record deal I was so excited (nerd) because I loved her on X Factor. In my mind she should have won - she clearly had more charisma than any of those other saps.

A couple of weeks ago I went to visit Cerys Matthews to talk about her new album, ‘Never Said Goodbye’. I shook her hand, then gave her a sherbet fountain to break the ice… She liked that.

It was a brilliant interview, she was really bubbly and funny and she was wearing a really cool dress designed by her friend. I liked her a lot.
